Santa Clara University’s new Sobrato Campus of Discovery and Innovation, which recently opened in September, won the Structure Award for Silicon Valley’s best education project of the year. Cornerstone Earth Group, Inc.provided consultation, observation, and laboratory testing of the geotechnical aspects of the project for SCU.
Designed to create a flexible environment for students of both the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering, the main building contains on-site research labs and serves as a hub of cross-collaboration between the disciplines. The 270,000 square foot building is now the largest on campus and features 30-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and capacity of over 1,400 seats for students and faculty.
