Cornerstone Earth Group, Inc. provided geotechnical engineering, consultation, and construction observation and testing services for ππΌπΏπ²ππΆππ²’π new data center project in Santa Clara, CA.
This video shows Cornerstone observing Berkel and GRL engineers conduct high-strain dynamic testing on their sacrificial test auger cast piles. The sacrificial piles were previously installed to a depth of 60 and 100 feet. The testing operations include placing a test frame with a 16-ton weight over each test pile. The 16-ton weight is then dropped from heights ranging from 1 to 5 feet onto the pileβs head. Multiple drops, with increasing heights per drop, are performed to verify the ultimate capacity of the pile, confirming the design specifications.
