Recently, a group of Cornerstone Earth Group, Inc. staff went on a weekend camping getaway at Plasket Creek campgrounds in beautiful Big Sur, CA. The pack was composed of members of Cornerstone’s Geotechnical, Environmental, and Construction Services departments. Although there were a number of memorable moments, perhaps the culinary highlight of the trip was an outstanding tri-tip sandwich dinner on Friday night.
On Saturday, much of the group spent a large portion of the day relaxing on the beach, while others took advantage of some excellent waves and went surfing. Land-based activities included frisbee, spike ball, backgammon, and volleyball. Saturday dinner was fajitas and rice and beans, courtesy of CEG, followed by a delicious Dutch oven peach cobbler.
Sunday morning, a small but intrepid group went surfing again. Later in the day everyone got a little wet, whether they had surfed or not, when a light rain shower rolled in while the team was packing to leave. The camping trip was very well attended, leading us to believe there will be more such Cornerstone staff adventures taking place in the near future due to popular demand. What a great way to build team chemistry!!
