Cornerstone Earth Group, Inc. was retained by real estate developer, Lane Partners, to provide environmental and geotechnical services for Berkeley Commons, a research and development campus at Aquatic Park in Berkeley, CA. Our environmental services for the project include evaluating soil and soil vapor quality beneath the property. Our geotechnical services for the project include conventional borings and cone penetration testing, as well as reviewing historic data from prior investigations.
According to Gensler, the developer’s architect, the two research and development buildings will total 462,000 square feet, be three stories high, and hold between 1,300 and 1,600 workers. There will also be two parking garages on the site with photovoltaic panels on the roof of each structure. The buildings are designed to be certified LEED Gold.
